THANK YOU, Dave Norris! (please see our Thank You Letter below)

BUT OUR WORK IS NOT DONE LOCALLY IN CHARLOTTESVILLE.

In order to assure that all the Citizens of Charlottesville lend their voice to the growing movement of Cities for Peace With Iran, we need every citizen to join in and sign a petition to urge our Charlottesville City Council to become a City of Peace With Iran and pass a Resolution Against Attacking Iran.

Here’s the resolution we’ll be urging City Council to pass:

Here’s a blank petition form you can print in order to collect your own signatures:

We will present the resolution and petitions to Charlottesville City Council: August 4, 2008.

Dear Mayor Dave Norris,

Thank you for being one of 40 (and growing in number) mayors in the country to sign on to the National Mayors’ Resolution for Diplomacy with Iran — a critical and timely resolution urging the Bush Administration to to oppose military intervention in Iran and pursue diplomatic engagement.

The resolution also asks Congress to prohibit the use of funds to carry out military action against Iran without explicit Congressional authorization.

Thank you for being a Mayor who represents the people. But our work is not done locally. Now let’s hear the voice of the people to make our city a City of Peace With Iran and pass a City of Charlottesville Resolution Against Attacking Iran.

Peace,

Charlottesville CodePINK and allied coalition groups.

Dave Norris signed the National Mayors’ Resolution for Diplomacy with Iran as Mayor of Charlottesville, BUT OUR WORK IS NOT DONE IN CHARLOTTESVILLE.

Sign a resolution to make Charlottesville a City For Peace With Iran and join us to present the resolution and petitions to Charlottesville City Council: August 4, 2008.
